Radio City Christmas Spectacular
Last Year in 2007 the Radio City Christmas Spectacular celebrated its 75th anniversary. This show has grown and changed over the years but one thing remains the same, The Christmas Spirit. This one show has been able to spark the Christmas spirit in the people who see it since it began. It is a rare gift to be able to experience a show with so much spirit, so much energy and so much fun.
The Radio City Christmas Spectacular came into existence as a thirty minuet performance between movies that was offered as a special treat during the holiday season. It continued this way from its birth in 1933 until the Radio City Music Hall stopped showing feature films in 1979. At that point it was transformed into a full 90 minute show that has become a New your Tradition.
This show will delight children and parents alike with it over 140 performers in their colorful and lavish costumes. The show features original music and even opens with a 3D movie. As technology has evolved the show has evolved with it staying fresh and up to date throughout the years. It has held onto the wonderful basics of the show, the Parade of the Wooden Solders and its Living Nativity have both been performed since the show began.
The Christmas season just doesn’t seem quite as magical until you see this performance. Even the Grinch himself is transformed into a starry eyed child when he watches scenes like the Nutcracker, Here Comes Santa Clause and The Twelve Days of Christmas.
This spectacular show only runs for six weeks from November 9 to December 30. It is a New York tradition that families will travel across the country to see. If you want to get your hands on these hot tickets it will be easiest to buy them online. Online tickets are sold at www.tickets.ag.
