The idea is that when you emit such pollutants, you stop the same from taking place in any other location on the planet, basically to nullify your emissions. This way the overall emissions throughout the world will stay within permitted limits, which will reduce the damage to the environment.

Global warming, which is the term given to the recent climate changes we are currently seeing, happens because average temperatures around the world have increased. The climate changes we see now should be a concern to all of us, no matter how old we are. We need to demonstrate that we can be responsible and change this, so that others will follow suit. We need to make changes now, so that these already dire climate changes don’t escalate.
